Henry Aguilar (aka
jhames808) started photography in 2009 as a hobby focusing on
landscape and
macro. A self-taught photographer who enjoys spending time taking pictures. He later on started shooting
portraits,
local events, concerts and weddings. Together with his passion and dedication, Henry continues to learn and explore other areas of photography humbly grasping every suggestions and comments to improve his craft.
One of his photos was published in the February 2012 issue of the
Hawaii Magazine when he was hailed as the grand prize winner of the magazine's 13th annual photo contest.
His work was also selected to be part of the recent Contemporary Photography in Hawaii 2012 at Frame Arts Hawaii organized by Pacific New Media.
When he gets time off from his daytime job, Henry continues to pursue his fascination in photography as a freelance photographer. Photography gives him an opportunity to be adventurous wherein he most appreciate the beauty and charm of the island by joining different non-profit photography groups.
Henry also believes that "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder but sometimes you have to let the beauty out by capturing the simplest subject in its extraordinary flair" which reflects on his work of art.
